When beginning research on policies, a good first step is to start by reading up on the topic. Decide what group or issue you are researching and identify some books in the library catalog on that topic. While reading up on the topic you will also read about which policies have been enacted, and which play a large role in service or treatment of the topic. You will also be able to use those books as your first sources of information for your paper.

This is a link to the catalog. Try a search such as Veterans and Policy as keywords.

Other good starting places include the Gale Virtual Reference Library for background information.

The Proquest Research Library is a good database to find both scholarly articles and newspaper articles on policies and issues.

Many of these links are also available on the guide for the subject of Social Work under the tab "Social Work Policy Resources."
