If you have a WSU OneCard, it serves as your Library Card. If you don't have your OneCard yet, visit the OneCard office. Please report lost cards immediately.

Different Wayne State affiliates have different privileges:

  • Undergraduate students check items out for 28 days and can renew 3 times, to renew a fourth time the item must be present in the library.
     
  • Graduate students check out items until the end of the current semester and can renew 2 times, to renew a third time the item must be present in the library.
     
  • WSU staff check out items for 28 days and can renew 3 times, to renew a fourth time the item must be present in the library.
     
  • Faculty / Research (including Retired Faculty) check out items until the end of the current semester and can renew 2 times, to renew a third time the item must be present in the library.
     
  • WSU retired employee check out items for 28 days, the ability to renew depends on their patron category at retirement.

For Guest borrowers, you may:

  • Check out a maximum of 10 items at one time for a 28 day loan
  • Request access to our Storage collections, and check out materials that circulate
  • Access electronic resources and databases from campus

Guest borrowers are restricted from:

  • Placing hold requests on books or other items
  • Renewing items - items must be brought in and checked back out in-person
  • Gaining access to our electronic resources and databases from home or off campus
  • Gaining access to our group study rooms and computer labs
  • Some categories of reserve items
