Marketing Library Events

How can I let students know about an event?

How do I promote a library event?

How can I get the word out about a library event?

Can I print banners or posters for my event?

Answer

Marketing an event in the library should begin with a brief consultation with Jill Wurm (ae0831@wayne.edu, (313) 577-4149). This can help define the scope of the library event and its marketing needs. Jill will need to know dates, timelines of the event, and the intended audience. She may advise you on the type of marketing you might need for the event, help you define what help you need, and who you might want to attend the event. The consultation will determine your next steps.

Think about day of event: will you need signage and notifications about noise? Ensure that you have consent for any images you will be using.
