The Library does not provide a service to search for obituaries on your behalf. But you are welcome to come into the Purdy Kresge Library and perform the search yourself.

If you are looking for local obituaries, the Purdy Kresge Library has the Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press.

For information about the library's holdings of the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News, please see the following FAQ: "Does the library have old Detroit News and Detroit Free Press newspapers?"

The Burton Collection at the Detroit Public Library is another source for obituary information.  More information about the Burton Collection can be found at this link: http://detroit.lib.mi.us/featuredcollection/burton-historical-collection
